When it's my moment in the sun, I won't forget that I am blessed, but every hero walks alone, thinking of more things to confess

Tea Time

I have been feeling a bit under the weather the past few days. Nothing serious, just allergies and congestion. A few days ago, I woke up and my throat was feeling a bit scratchy. So what did I do?

I made me some tea.

Now, I am Southern as they come. I love cornbread. I know Hank Williams Jr. songs by heart. I think Bo and Luke Duke should have their faces carved on the side of Mt. Rushmore. I only drink Kentucky bourbon. And when I talk about Kentucky, I always say the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

T.O. says "I Love Me Some Me," but I say "I Love Me Some Sweat Tea!"

But, I have grown quite fond of a nice cup of tea. Not green tea. Not peach tea. No special flavors. I like a nice hot glass of tea with a little bit of sugar in it. I have been drinking it so much as of late that I have been contemplating whether or not I should start buying sugar in cube form. I have never before entertained those kind of thoughts. But now that I am drinking tea like an Englishman, I think I just might need sugar cubes.

Who knows? Will I start to follow cricket? Will I start using the word randy? Will I call everyone Love? Hopefully my blokes won't let all that happen to me.

But it is almost 4 p.m. Time for some tea.

Okay, this post made me do some serious giggling!

And what is up with calling Kentucky, the Commonwealth of Kentucky?? Funniness!!

PS...who in their right mind would drink any other type of Bourbon? Seriously!

Have your tried Woodford Reserve yet? Get on it!! And go and visit the distillery if you're ever in my lovely hometown of Versailles!!

I thought this post was for sure leading to the talk of a "hot tottey". It has been known in some parts of the south when one has an ailment such as a sore throat, that mixing a little bourbon with some honey and lemon, a tea of sorts, helps the pain. I had one when I was too young and it turned my stomach against whiskey ever since. It helped my throat though...
